J’aime le DUBSTEP wk no. 7 – takeAbath
This weeks selector is the Halifax based takeAbath. An unapologetic fan of cheesy r&b vocals and all things sub-bass, takeAbath’s layers up the old school garage vibes with the wonky basslines in a mix that provides yet another glimpse into the variety of the 140.
takeAbath will be playing at Tribeca on Thursday from about 1am-2:30. So come down for some bands (THE DARCYS, Scribble, Gideons) and stay for takeAbath.

After finally surrendering to the eclectic, slow, yet precise, hard hitting sound of dubstep, Velocian takes the liquid drum and bass kid gloves off and brings a new flavor to the “tables”. hello,
2 weeks ago, i purchased a bunch of liquid for a radio show with Method and Timmy Tables (buckbangner), well 10 -15 tracks actually. Since i payed a bunch of money i felt as if i needed to record a mix with most of them, so i can put them to bed.
This is just a quick mix, nothing is planned. My focus was simply to stay in the mix as much as possible, so most of the mixes are live drops. A few tracks are launch more then once in the mix (thanks to my trigger finger).

I just recently met Accomplice online, a Canadian living in Seoul, South Korea. At the moment he holds a residency at Konkrete Jungle Seoul at Cargo, Vinyl Underground in Busan, and Mimosa Sundays at Berlin Lounge. J’aime le DUBSTEP wk no. 5 – D Dub
D Dub brings his love for original reggae dub and dark, malicious basslines when he steps up to the 1’s and 2’s. He created the Dubwize Collective in 2008 to help create more of an awareness of dubstep in Halifax, bringing in local dubstep heavyweights Construct & DVD to help establish its rep and recently brought up & coming Bedford DJ/Producer P-80 into the DWC Fold. There are big plans for D Dub and the DWC in 2009 to continue the expansion of the dubstep frontier in Atlantic Canada.
D Dub is proud to be dropping a 30 mins mix of the DWC ethos for J’aime Le Dubstep and hopes to see y’all April 11th for the launch party at CoGo.
