Aufect Recordings boss, DJ Cure (aka Patrik Walters) is no stranger to Canada’s underground electronic music scene. He is now running three record labels, unleashing a slew 12" Vinyl to the masses, producing across a multi genre platform and DJing across North America
.

Cure started collecting records at the age of 16. It started out as an addiction to Hip Hop, but growing up between Toronto and Detroit it was only a matter of time before he discovered Jungle and Techno (in which you can hear the influences in his sets and productions).

Over the years Patrik has shared the bill with industry icons such as Rusko, Joker, DZ, Martyn, Luke Envoy, Noah D, Joe Nice, Headhunter, Dieselboy, Concord Dawn, Evol Intent, Kenny Ken, and Ed Rush to name a few.

In 2004 he landed a gig on MTV’s “Don’t try this at home” tour, opening up for Steve-o and the rest of the infamous “Jackass” crew.
Around that same time he was starting to really take interest in Grime and early Dubstep, after a friend passed along a Kode 9
mixtape. When 2006 rolled around Cure had become intrigued by the future sounds of Dubstep. He joined Pressing Issues Recordings that summer as an A&R , and has just recently taken full control of the label.

In August of 2007, after feeling like he had reached his limits in Ontario, he decided to transplant to Vancouver with the intent of starting a label of his own. In early 2008 Aufect Recordings was born and Cure joins the Vancouver local Bass squad, the Lighta! SoundCrew.
