Scratching and splicing riffs, loops, beats and bass to form a sonically seamless, mash-up masterpiece as seen on his recent Radio 1 mini-mix for Annie Mac; it's understandable that Doorly is often described as 'an old school block party DJ using new school technology'. His first big break came in April 2008, when Doorly was invited by Pete Tong to spin live on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix as part of the 'In New DJs We Trust' Introducing Tour, leading to spots on the Radio One Stage at Creamfields and the Radio One Ibiza Weekend where he has hosted the main stage 2 years running. Montreal has some serious talent! After a Monkey Dub Producers special last week (Man of Zion & Geoff Buchannan) we have another week of 2 solid producers... DJ DIALECT & REALITY __________________________________________________________________ DIALECT One of the most sought after DJs and talented producers in Montreal, DIALECT is back to rock out Bass Drive with a special dubstep set! Straight outta the northern lands of Deux-Montagnes... Initially influenced by hip hop acts such as KRS One, Native Tongues, Gangstarr, Jeru tha damaja., He began to pursue a hip hop scratch dj status in 97. With the newer generation of "Shit-Hop" emerging from numerous hip hop labels, he became frustrated, fed up, and discontinued purchasing hip hop vinyls altogether. Still producing hip hop instrumentals, and working with local MC's, Dj Dialect was still unsatisfied with the current "scene" until his first visit to the afterhours. An easy convert to the Break Beat sound, Dialect blends the precision skills of turntablism with an ear for the underground electronic music community. Dialect can be heard spinnin' "erectro, real skool breaks, dirty disco, whore-house, fist funk" and more.
