Well, i’m excited. Tonight we have Deep Medi artist Silkie dropping deepness onto to the dancefloor at club Passeport as part of a collab between Forward Music and Music Is My Sanctuary. Joining this UK artist will be the ever so clever Ruilly Guilty and Lexis, along side Forward organizers Wally and Rhys Taylor.

Silkie’s rise to prominence has been documented by several high profile achievements, including the acclaimed release of his City Limits album on Deep Medi and being personally chosen by Mala to feature on Mary Anne Hobbs’ legendary Generation Bass show.

The combination of impassioned melodies, ruff London bass, wonky synth and jungle-esque flourishes on “City Limits Volume 1” have made Silkie and his Anti Social Entertainment camp mainstays of the biggest and most influential venues in dubstep, like Fwd>>, DMZ London & Leeds, as well as London’s leading station Rinse FM. The album is the culmination of eight years hard work: Silkie began producing at 15 while still at school. He’s now seeing the fruits of his labour with DJ bookings both across the UK and worldwide. Through his emotive production vision, he’s long since exploded beyond his own personal City Limits.

Now for something I don’t believe needs more press, because 95% of all tickets have been sold. Good luck to any people who didn’t act fast cause this will be Montreal’s BIGGEST dubstep show in History (if i’m mistaken, someone please correct me).

Of course, the show i’m talking about is the monster put together by Bouddha Slinky, SJU and SaintWoods:

With already over 1,600 people marked as attending on the facebook event, this show is gonna crush bones in my opinion. Bring your ear protection if you plan to have a discussion with another person in the days to follow this event. It’s gonna hurt.

I’ll be bouncing around this event supporting our Canadian boys, Zeds Dead and the Killabits. Both have been grabbing Toronto’s dubstep scene by the balls in the past year with their weekly BassMentality Wednesdays. Could we dare to say it is the sister night to Montreal’s Bass Drive Wednesdays.

If your not into sweaty 18yr olds and getting crushed by a moshpit of rave slamming, then Lazer Sword will be at the Belmont this Saturday (Belmont = Best bar in Montreal, imo). So keep yourselves busy and go check it out. I’ll be popping around for some pre-bass-crushing lazer displays. Don’t show up too late, cause they aren’t the closing act.
