I’m pumped this week to bring you mix no46 by Hellfire Machina.
This is a sick mix, and these guys have plenty of things on the go.

a little bio action:
Prior to the birth of this project in late 2008. Jody Shires and Tom Williams collectively had over 60 releases under their belts, along with production work for grammy nominated artists, numerous UK top ten remixes, 5 Breakspoll Awards, Best International Dj in the Spanish EDM awards 3 years running and a history in bass culture that is second to none..

With residencies at New York’s legendary Club Love, Darkroom in Brooklyn and Psychedelic Radio in San Francisco, it’s no wonder these guys are in high demand. Their weekly radio show on dubstepfm has gone from strength to strength and has helped push the awareness of bass music across the globe as well as providing a platform to hear the latest Hellfire creations first, often in early stages as they are developed in their now famously named studio Planet Twisted. Ending last year with A&R and project management credits for the Wu Tang ‘Enter The Dubstep’ album and a string of singles and remixes, they have hit the ground running in 2010. A fresh batch of releases due to hit the streets imminently, a new label project with techno legend Lenny Dee in the works, as well as the next chapter in the infamous BASS FUELED MISCHIEF parties in their homebase of NYC.

First off, big big thanks to everyone who picked up the Dopelabs mix last week. Over 8500 downloads in a week. By far a new record.

So lets get this week popping with a mix by Chicago’s DJ KaBz.
Here’s a little write up about his exploits.

KABZ (Fresh Kid, Dubstep.fm, Ground Zero Projects)

Hailing from Chicago, KABZ is one of the fastest rising DJ’s in the midwest scene… Having started DJ’ing in 1993, he has progressed through countless genres of music before discovering dubstep in late 2007. KABZ has played every major venue/showcase in Chicago and always leaves the crowd wanting more of his wikkid, hard hitting mixing style. Now a regular DJ on The Dented Sessions on http://www.dubstep.fm, and has been a featured DJ on The Part Time Suckers Show on http://www.WNUR.org, Sub808 on KAKU (Maui), Joystixx Radio on http://www.WLUW.org, Dubstation on http://www.Rhubarbradio.com (Birmingham UK), and a featured mix on http://www.afterdarkradio.info (Birmingham UK) as well.

Kabz is also an integral cog in the Fresh Kid crew in Chicago, promoting two bi-weekly dubstep nights, as well as assorted other events in the midwest dubstep scene. Watch out for this Badman, he might be coming through your town soon!!

The celebration continues this time with Vancouver’s DJ Cure.
DJ Cure has been doing big for a while now, with tons of experience under his belt and at the helm of one of the best Canadian Dubstep labels, AUFECT Recordings ( get to know it !! – http://www.myspace.com/aufect ) it’s no surprise this guy is holding down the fort while building an extra fort in the back as an expansion.

This mix is packed full of dubs, all of which are sick. Bigs to all the Vancity crews and DJ Cure for providing this excellent mix for the 1st anniversary of the podcast.

Well guys, its that time of year…. the time for broken hearts, new romances and a shit load of Valentine day themed events. So to help prepare the mood for Valentine’s day and to prepare for the 1 year anniversary of J’aime Le Dubstep coming up next week, I have for you two mixes this week.

First up no40 by Velocian, a very silky vocal dubstep mix which might make you sign out loud.

This is what Velocian had to say about his mix:
This is my third “J’aime le dubstep” mix, and again I’m very grateful to be able to represent a great selection of tracks from so many talented names on this weekly program that, I got to say, has picked up mad momentum this year.

Taking a break from the dark, heavy stuff that I previously showcased, I picked alot of indi type remixes, some hip-hop and a few cheekies like “Art of noise – moments in love”.

I thought I’d go with a love theme for valentines day originaly, but I can never really stick to a specific theme for more than 3 tracks at a time so instead I just followed my gut and threw in whatever sounded quirky or cool.

I had a good time putting this mix together and I hope you enjoy this week’s “J’aime le dubstep”.

J’aime Le Dubstep no39 by Mindelixir

Up to bat this week for mix no39 is North Carolina based dubstep producer Mindelixir. If you don’t know yet, Mindelixir has this swanky, futuristic, deep approach to dubstep which often leads to very fun tracks. I’m very excited to have Mindelixir join in and deliver us such a sweet mix. I’ll be looking forward to his first full lenght album coming out soon, dubbed “futurism”. (Big shouts to Badman Press while we’re at it too)

Peep this if your still scratching your heads.

Little bio action:
Mindelixir always has something up his sleeve.He has recently burned stages alive alongside the likes of Rusko, Skream, Joker, Benga, Dieselboy, Pretty Lights, and Eliot Lipp. He has collaboration and remix projects in the works for unbelievable artists from the Bronx to Singapore. He puts horse shoes in his dubstep boxing gloves. Watch out.
